Common rules of the application

Once the country has been chosen, four rules work the same way in every Schengen application.

• The main destination rule — determines which country to apply to on a multi-country route.
• Application file — shows which question the documents have to answer.
• Biometrics and processing time — explains when to apply and how to request multiple entries.
• Refusal grounds and appeal — explains the official grounds for refusal listed in the Visa Code and the route of appeal.

Why do we separate the charges?

Consular fee is collected on behalf of the public authority. The mandatory external service fee is the acceptance and transfer service of the application center. Courier, SMS, photo, printout, application from home or premium lounge are mostly optional. Purchasing an on-demand service will not improve the appointment, processing time or visa decision.
